Community Initiatives Support Vulnerable Groups in Cornuda’s 1996 Project

Start of the Agreement and Participants

On beginning of June 1996, a convention was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale of Cornuda for the signing of a project in favor of the most vulnerable social groups. Attending the event were some representatives of local political and social forces, including the mayor, representatives of the neighborhood association and various volunteer organizations.

Objectives and Funding

The project, which will last for two years, aims in particular to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents in the municipality. The total amount allocated for the initiative amounts to approximately one hundred thousand euros, financed with regional and European funds.

Activities and Expected Goals

The activities include home care services, psychological support, training courses, and socialization programs for the most vulnerable groups. In addition, social transport will be enhanced and listening and gathering centers established.

The project intends to promote the importance of social inclusion and improve the quality of life of the people involved, also creating opportunities for meeting and solidarity among citizens.

The Role of Institutions and Associations

The municipal administration has committed to supporting the initiatives by providing surveillance and coordination services among the various involved components.
