Cornuda Social Support Project Launch: EU-Funded Initiative for Vulnerable Groups

Start of the Agreement and Participants

On the beginning of June 1996, a convention was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale in Cornuda for the signing of a project aimed at supporting the most vulnerable social groups. Some representatives of local political and social forces participated in the initiative, including the mayor, representatives of the neighborhood association (associazione di quartiere), and various volunteer organizations.

Objectives and Funding

The project, which will last for two years, aims in particular to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents within the municipality. The total amount allocated for the initiative is approximately one hundred thousand euros, funded through regional and European Union resources.

Planned Activities and Goals

The activities include home assistance services, psychological support, training and socialization courses for the categories most in need. Additionally, social transport services will be enhanced, and listening and gathering centers established.
