Osprey Rescued in Dro, Rehabilitated After Left-Wing Injury, Released at Avisio Estuary
An osprey rescued in Dro was handed over to the CRAS on May 12 following intervention by the Stazione Forestale di Riva del Garda, which led the recovery effort. Before release, the bird was ringed by staff from MUSE in Trento on May 19 to gather data on future sightings, and it was released at the Foci dell’Avisio biotope, chosen as a migratory waypoint to help it resume its journey.
At intake, veterinary checks revealed a left-wing injury requiring immediate care. The raptor remained at the center for just over a week, receiving targeted therapies, a fish-based diet, and continuous observation by specialists, before being released in flight-ready condition.
