Wonder Mechanics Brings Contemporary Art to Gardone Riviera
The 20th edition of **“Meccaniche della Meraviglia”** is bringing contemporary art to towns across the Garda area, with an exhibition route running until **the end of summer 2026**. Curated by **Albano Morandi**, the event features solo shows staged in historic venues and less conventional locations, including **Gardone Riviera**, **Toscolano Maderno**, and **Gargnano**, with additional installations across other parts of the **Brescia province**.
In **Gargnano**, the former Town Hall hosts **Tommaso Cascella’s** “**Un cielo dopo il cielo**,” open until **23 July** with free entry. In **Toscolano Maderno**, the **Paper Museum** presents **Giuliano Guatta’s** “**Raccogliere cadute**,” running until **30 August** and focused on ruins and debris, spanning different artistic languages including painting and performance. In **Gardone Riviera**, bronze animal sculptures by **Davide Rivalta** are placed along the lakeside and in **Piazza Marconi**, as part of a public-space section curated by **Ilaria Bignotti** and **Camilla Remondina**.
The programme also includes **Leonesia in Puegnago del Garda**, where—together with the **Premio Nocivelli**—a site-specific installations exhibition by **Alessandro Franco** (winner of the latest edition) is on view, curated by **Daniele Astrologo Abadal**. Overall, the independent, time-based format connects national and international artists with palaces, churches, industrial archaeology sites, and natural settings, aiming to strengthen the link between artworks, place, and local communities.
