Edmund Mach hosts night at the woods’ beehive in Trentino

A talk in Trentino will focus on ticks and how to prevent tick-borne diseases, including Lyme borreliosis and TBE, as part of the first phase of the annual program of the Gruppo Ursa Trentino. The session will be led by Dr. Giulia Ferrari, a researcher in applied ecology at the Edmund Mach Research and Innovation Centre, and will also cover the ZeccApp, the Foundation’s app for monitoring the local area.

Promoted by the Gruppo Ursa Trentino—an initiative created to counter fake news and misconceptions about large carnivores—the event is the latest in a cycle that began in June. Previous meetings addressed topics such as bees and amphibians, and the program involves Edmund Mach researchers to explain prevention practices and dispel myths related to summer arthropods.
