Lechi Museum in Montichiari Showcases Photography and Museum Archives
“Fotografia e archivi museali” opens on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at the Museo Lechi in Montichiari. The exhibition is a joint project between the museum and the photography association Artimmagine and is included in the 2026 Brescia Photo Festival program.
The show draws on works kept in the museum’s storage areas and not normally on public view, offering a photographic re-reading of the collection. Contemporary photographers selected one of eight artworks and built a visual dialogue with the original pieces, using photography to interpret composition, light, iconography and material rather than simply reproducing the works. The exhibition runs until August 23, 2026, with visiting hours from Wednesday to Saturday (10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 2:30–6:00 p.m.) and Sunday (3:00–7:00 p.m.); entry is allowed up to 30 minutes before closing. On July 25, 2026 at 4:00 p.m., the event “A dialogue between painting and photography” will feature talks by Federico Troletti and Morris Bellini.
