ASST Garda and ASST Franciacorta Unveil New Robotic Surgery System
ASST Garda and ASST Franciacorta have presented on Monday, 6 July 2026 a shared robotic surgery system delivered to the Chiari hospital hub, intended for the joint surgical network of the two public healthcare providers. The initiative is designed to strengthen public surgical services through an inter-company model that pools expertise, professionals and technology.
The platform will be used initially in General Surgery and Urology, supporting surgeons in more complex procedures with a minimally invasive approach to improve precision, control and intraoperative visualization. The companies say the rollout will expand treatment options for patients and help develop specialist skills within the public network.
Training for multidisciplinary teams from both ASSTs is scheduled for July, covering surgeons, anesthetists, operating room nurses and staff who will operate the platform, with sessions planned both at an international dedicated training center and at company sites. Clinical use is set to begin on 20 July 2026.
