Natality Bonus for Third Child: Questions Open From July 15

From 15 July 2026, mothers living in Trentino can apply for the provincial “birth allowance for the third child,” for families in which a third child is born or adopted from 1 January 2026. The benefit covers both the fixed installment and the performance-based (premial) component provided by the measure.

The allowance is aimed at families resident in the province of Trento, with the mother meeting the required citizenship and residency conditions and belonging to the same family unit as the children. The mother must be employed at the time of birth or adoption, or have paid social security contributions for at least 12 months in the last five years. The fixed quota can reach up to €400 per month (maximum total €48,000) for families with an ICEF Famiglia up to 0.40; for other income brackets, the maximum is €30,000, with monthly amounts starting from €250. From the child’s third year of age, an additional €200 per month is available for mothers who return to or remain in the labour market and can show at least 180 days of work in the previous year.

Applications can be submitted directly by the mother using SPID or the electronic identity card, or through patronage offices. The standard deadline is 180 days from birth or adoption; for children born or adopted by 30 June 2026, the fixed-quota application can be filed by 31 December 2026, with retroactive payment of amounts due. Details are published in the Comune di Nago-Torbole notice.
