Gargnano Hosts Conference on Food Rationing and Black Market During the RSI

A conference titled **“Food, requisitions and the black market during the RSI”** will be held on **Wednesday, 5 August 2026 at 9:00 pm** in the **main square of Villa in Gargnano**, as the **third event** in the series **“Gargnano, la Storia e i suoi luoghi”**, curated by **Professor Bruno Festa**.

The event will focus on local developments that marked the end of the Second World War in the Gardesano area, with particular attention on **food supply**, **forced requisitions**, and the **black market** during the **Italian Social Republic (RSI)**. The programme reconstructs the period using **documents**, **testimonies**, and **local accounts**, linking historical events to the places where they occurred. Participation is **free**, but **mandatory registration** is required by **12:00 noon the day before** the conference.
