The August issue of “Garda Notes” highlights peak summer pressure on Lake Garda, with towns and waterfronts crowded by visitors from across Europe. The magazine points to a delicate balance in lake water management: while the reservoir level remains visually consistent, downstream agricultural needs, regulation of outflows, and weather conditions point to an increasingly strict approach to managing the water resource.

The issue also notes a tourism-related shift: despite high visitor numbers and full public spaces, tourists are spending less on average, affecting restaurants, local shops and accommodation businesses.
