Fire Incident at Gardaland on August 7: Park Remains Open

A fire broke out on 7 August in a non-public area of Gardaland after a generator was activated due to an external power grid failure. The park’s in-house emergency team and the Fire Brigade contained the incident within minutes, and Gardaland remained open to visitors.

Initial technical assessments indicated that unusually high temperatures may have contributed to overheating of the unit. The generator caught fire in a minor way and was quickly managed under the park’s safety procedures. No employees or guests were involved or injured; nearby access routes were temporarily closed as a precaution and then reopened.

The local power outage required the use of generators and led to temporary changes in the operation of some attractions and services, depending on power availability. Gardaland said it continued operating normally and stayed open to the public.
