Parakarate Tábor in Budapest Brings Sport and Inclusion to the Garda Karate Team

Three athletes from the Garda Karate Team—Alessio Locatelli, Gioele Fanti and Andrea Delai—took part in the Parakarate Tábor in Budapest from 3 to 8 August 2026. The international training camp, led by Master Adrian Magyar, involved around 20 athletes with disabilities, along with their coaches, families and the team’s coach Adriana Leali.

The programme combined personal expression, recreational activities and group-building sessions in the mornings, including workshops and games designed to encourage interaction. Participants also took part in a painting studio activity using body and brushes, as well as workshops to create bracelets, drawings and team games aimed at reducing barriers and supporting socialisation.

Afternoons focused on karate training under Magyar, with assistance from Italian masters Rolando Gaido and Salvatore Strummiello. The camp also featured Dušana Augustovičová from the World Karate Federation, who conducted skill and motor-coordination tests and collected data for inclusive athletic development, alongside Márton Falusi, vice president of the Hungarian Karate Federation and WKF representative for Hungary. Training sessions included high-level athletes Mattia Allesina, Olivia Kákósy and Federica Yakymashko.
