Bardolino Water-Saving Ordinance in Effect Through August 31

Bardolino has introduced water-saving measures to tackle the ongoing shortage, with an ordinance currently in force until August 31, 2026 (subject to extension). The rules limit potable water use to essential needs during daytime and are accompanied by a public awareness campaign led by AGS – Azienda Gardesana Servizi.

From 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., drinking water may be used only for food-related and hygiene and sanitation purposes. During the same hours, the ordinance bans watering vegetable gardens, ornamental gardens and lawns, private vehicle washing, cleaning private courtyards and driveways, and filling swimming pools, garden tanks, and ornamental fountains.

Between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., only emergency irrigation of vegetable plots and trees is allowed, and only in the strictly necessary amounts. Filling pools and private car washing remain prohibited, along with other non-essential uses. The Comune says the measures are designed to keep water available for human consumption and personal hygiene, urging residents and businesses to use water more carefully day to day.
