On Tuesday 27 October, traffic around Lake Garda is affected by full road closures and alternating one-way systems in many towns, from the Veronese shore to the Bresciano shore.
Among the full closures is via Po in Lazise, closed to traffic from 8:00 am on 21 October to 6:00 pm on 30 October, weekends included, for the replacement of the water mains.
Main roads and lakefront
In Bardolino, alternating one-way traffic at the junction of the SP 31, strada Bardolina and strada Tre Contrade accompanies the works for a new traffic light system. The site remains active until 27 October inclusive.
In Desenzano del Garda, on via Marconi, the lane towards Sirmione is closed at night, from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, until 31 October, between viale Andreis and via Gramsci. The carriageway is narrowed and the speed limit drops to 30 km/h at the roundabout with via Gramsci and via Garibaldi.
In Toscolano Maderno, the Beato José María Escrivá lakeside promenade, near the small harbour between via Religione and viale Marconi, is closed from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm from 19 October to 6 November because of ongoing works. On weekends and public holidays the stretch reopens to pedestrians and cyclists.
In Bogliaco, a hamlet of Gargnano, via Trento is closed to traffic from 7:30 to 8:30 am because an aerial work platform is being positioned.
Works in the towns
Desenzano del Garda. On via San Benedetto, near number 55, alternating one-way traffic with traffic marshals applies from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm until 6 November, with a narrowed carriageway and a parking ban with vehicle removal, for the laying of new fibre optic cable. On via Ugo La Malfa, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm until 31 October, alternating one-way traffic accompanies resurfacing and the installation of new drains.
Garda. On via Abrile, between via Galilei and via don Gnocchi, traffic is prohibited from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm until 29 October, with a parking ban and vehicle removal. Emergency vehicles, law enforcement and residents with no alternative route are exempt. The works concern the stormwater pipeline.
Gargnano. On via Cesare Battisti, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on 26 and 27 October, parking is banned with vehicle removal from number 14 to number 8. During the same hours, traffic is also restricted on via Battisti and via Villavetro for excavation work on new street lights.
Lazise. Besides via Po, alternating one-way traffic with a parking ban applies from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm until 6 November, public holidays excluded, on via Confine, via Venezia, vicolo Confine, via del Burlin and via Derna, for fibre optic excavation.
Lonato del Garda. Four worksites are active. On via Industria and via Aldo Moro, alternating one-way traffic with a parking ban applies all day from 26 October to 13 November. On via Fenil Nuovo Molini, near via Fenil Schena, alternating one-way traffic applies from 26 October to 16 November for the rebuilding of the water supply network. On via Rassica, between via Isonzo and number 22, alternating one-way traffic applies from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm until 31 October. On via Lazzaretto, from 12 to 31 October, parking and traffic are prohibited from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and from 1:00 to 6:00 pm, except for the contractor and residents, for a new electricity network.
Brenzone sul Garda. On via De Loc, in Assenza and in the Borago area, traffic is regulated from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm until 30 October during resurfacing works.
Malcesine. Traffic is prohibited from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm until 28 October in the area behind the bus station, where a trial connection between Retelino and the coaches is being set up for tourists arriving by bus.
Manerba del Garda. On via Pascoli, alternating one-way traffic applies from 1:00 pm on 21 October to midnight on 30 October, with a parking ban and a 20 km/h speed limit.
Moniga del Garda. Traffic on via delle Vigne is suspended on Tuesday 27 October from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a parking ban and vehicle removal.
Salò. On via Brunati, at number 35, alternating one-way traffic managed by traffic marshals applies from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm until 30 October.
San Felice del Benaco. On 27 and 28 October, on via Don Bertazzi, alternating one-way traffic controlled by a traffic light applies from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm in front of the church. On via Porticcioli, traffic is prohibited from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and from 1:30 to 6:30 pm on the same two days.
Torri del Benaco. On via per Albisano, near number 22, from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 October, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, alternating one-way traffic is managed by two traffic marshals while an electric line is repaired. The road is not closed completely.
Valeggio sul Mincio. On vicolo Piave and via Circonvallazione Scipione Maffei, closures are planned on two days between 26 October and 6 November, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, to connect new utilities. The order does not specify which days, so it is not possible to say whether the closure is in force on Tuesday.
