Recently, Montichiari hosted the general assembly of the Consortium for the Protection of Grana Padano, a significant event in anticipation of the organization’s seventieth anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2025. The regional councilor for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry, Alessandro Beduschi, emphasized that Grana Padano represents a symbol of Lombardy and a cornerstone of the agri-food economy at both the regional and national levels. During the meeting, the successes of the production chain were highlighted, showcasing its ability to transform a large portion of Lombardy’s milk into the most exported DOP cheese in the world.
Beduschi also acknowledged the fundamental role of the Consortium in promoting the product, which has strengthened ties with Italian consumers and enhanced its presence in international markets. Effective communication has helped make Grana Padano an integral part of Italian culinary culture. In concluding his remarks, the councilor expressed confidence in the industry’s ability to face future challenges, including potential trade tariffs, asserting that quality and determination will ensure further successes.
