Strada della Forra: rock face movement slows down, aiming for a safe reopening. The Strada della Forra, closed since December 2023 due to a landslide that compromised the stability of the stretch, was the subject of a meeting among local authorities on May 16. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Province of Brescia, as well as technicians and local administrators, including provincial councilor Paolo Fontana and the mayor of Tremosine, Battista Girardi. Recent analyses have highlighted a slowdown in the movement of the rock face, thanks to continuous monitoring conducted through sensors. This progress has made it possible to initiate a collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano to develop a 3D model that will help define alert thresholds and ensure safety for the future reopening.
At the same time, a Local Civil Protection Evacuation Plan is being developed to address potential emergencies. A technical inspection is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, while the institutional table will continue to work on monitoring the situation and establishing a timeline for the road’s reopening. The primary objective remains to ensure traffic safety in Tremosine, minimizing disruptions and preserving the strategic importance of the artery for the economy and tourism of Alto Garda.
