Activists Storm Palazzo Te to Protest Levoni and Environmental Pollution

Four activists from the No Food No Science collective staged a protest inside Mantova’s Palazzo Te on January 4, disrupting the Sala dei Giganti. They unfurled banners reading “Levoni fuori dalla cultura,” sprinkled flour on the floor to symbolize human impact on the planet, and threw fake banknotes, criticizing the salumificio Levoni’s ties to local cultural institutions.

The demonstration follows ongoing protests against Levoni, which faces allegations of supporting intensive farming and animal mistreatment, with investigations into some of its suppliers. Carabinieri intervened, identifying and detaining the activists, who may face charges for vandalism and unpermitted assembly.
