AGS has recently completed a significant expansion of the sewage and water supply network along the Panoramic Road in Malcesine. The company has connected houses and tourist settlements to the sewage system, which were previously served by septic tanks with questionable purification capacity.

The main objective of the intervention was to eliminate potential environmental risks to soil, groundwater, and surface water. However, due to the area’s historical and environmental importance, it was necessary to carefully position the new sewage pipeline. Therefore, the restoration activities of the ancient mule track were carried out according to the procedures agreed upon with the Superintendence of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the provinces of Verona, Rovigo, and Vicenza.

The redevelopment of the ancient mule track was carried out in full environmental compliance, using natural engineering techniques and without the use of chemical binders. The original materials were recovered, and the total investment amounts to approximately 520,000 euros, supported by AGS in co-financing with the Veneto Region and the Municipality of Malcesine.

In addition to the expansion of the sewage network, the intervention also allowed for the redevelopment and enhancement of the water supply line, which was outdated and insufficient to meet the demand. The installation of approximately 1,500 meters of sewage pipeline and 1,300 meters of high-density polyethylene water pipeline ensured long-term durability and reliability.

The company also committed to the redevelopment of the Lavacco mule track, improving a characteristic path for the Malcesine community. Low-impact environmental techniques and materials were used, which, in collaboration with the Superintendence, ensured the complete safety of the ancient high road in the town. Furthermore, during the installation of the new pipelines, some sections of the road embankment that had experienced settlements over the decades were reinforced.
