The calendar of free excursions for 2025 has been unveiled by Federica Picchi, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Lombardy Region with a mandate for Sports and Youth. This initiative, promoted by the College of Alpine Guides of Lombardy, features a program of 12 excursions taking place from June 28 to July 27, with special activities in Val Masino aimed at both families and mountain enthusiasts. Additionally, there will be events focused on career orientation for those wishing to become Alpine Guides, as well as climbing outings during the autumn.
Picchi emphasized that these initiatives aim to make the mountains “accessible, educational, and safe,” particularly for young people and those approaching the alpine environment for the first time. The Lombardy Region actively supports Alpine Guides and Medium Mountain Instructors, recognizing their essential role in imparting knowledge and values related to environmental respect. The excursions are open to everyone, but registration is required through the official website of the College of Alpine Guides of Lombardy.
