Alto Garda and Ledro Education Event Showcases Opportunities for Students

The professional school system of Alto Garda and Ledro is on display. It does so by organizing two days of informative events on November 23 and 24 at the Palacongressi, focusing on opportunities and services available to students (middle and high school) to guide them in the world of education and employment.

Objectives of the Event

Two main goals underpin the “Ulisse Orienta 2001” event, presented yesterday at the Comune by Mayor Cesare Malossini and Education Councillor Stefano Lotti. The aim is to showcase existing opportunities and services within schools and to foster an increasingly close network between education, training, and work in a society that is becoming more demanding. This network (soon) will become a Consortium.

“It is necessary to overcome the fragmentation of proposals and bridge the gap between education, training, and employment,” explained Graziano Zuffi from the Province’s Education Services and coordinator of “Ulisse 2001” at the end of the press conference. The project, funded with 40 million euros by the Riva municipal administration, involves middle, high schools, and vocational institutes of Alto Garda and Ledro, as well as Iprase. Also participating are the employment agency, the Supervisory School Authority, the University of Trento, the museum and library of Riva, the Riva District, and the municipalities of Riva, Arco, Nago, and Dro.

“The purpose of the event,” explained Councillor Lotti in introducing the project, “is to encourage schools to move closer together in a reality— that of education— that for years has been reduced to a subsidiary role in culture. It is essential to rethink the training of individuals in an era of rapid transformations. The educational and training system serving people requires the active participation of communities, entities, institutions, and associations representing them.”

Twenty-five schools—middle, high, and vocational training institutes—will participate in the second edition of the fair (last year was a success with over 1,000 students just at the opening) which will take place next Friday and Saturday.

At the official opening on Friday the 23rd at 11 am, third-year middle school students from Arco, Bezzecca, and Dro will be present. Students will receive participation certificates. In the afternoon, fifth-year high school students will meet with student tutors from the University of Trento.

On Saturday, the stands will be visited by third-year middle school students from Malcesine, Tremosine, and Riva; vocational training will present post-diploma courses to fifth-year high school students, and in the afternoon, the employment center will showcase activities and pathways for third-year middle school students.
