Amid Nuoto Riva Swimmers Excel at International Meet and Local Races

The swimmers of Amid Nuoto Riva, last week, participated in the “22nd International Meeting” in Bad Reichenhall, Germany, competing against athletes from 47 clubs across eight different nations.

Standing out with the highest technical level were the strong Hungarian, Slovenian, and Czech swimmers, but the Italians also performed well, bringing home two silver medals and three bronze medals.

The medalists were Cristina Pace (100 butterfly) and Paola Valner (100 backstroke) for the silver medals, while Francesca Cerrone finished third in the 100 backstroke.

For the strong Riva-based swimmer Roberto Mandelli, two bronze medals were achieved: one in the 100 backstroke and another in the 100 freestyle.

The tough competition from Eastern European countries pushed Cristina Pace to fourth place in the 100 free and 200 individual medley, while Michele Canari and Paola Valner also secured fourth places in the 100 butterfly.

Nicolo Rigatti and Veronica Orlandi narrowly missed the podium in the 100 backstroke, finishing fourth in their respective categories.

The team’s overall experience ended on a positive note, meeting the expectations of the coaches, who saw their hopes confirmed in the young swimmers from Riva.

On Sunday morning, athletes competed at the municipal pool of Rovereto, where the first day of the Provincial Beginners Championships took place.

The event was attended by Mattia and Riccardo Baroni, Francesca Cerrone, Roberto Mandelli, Maurizia Mazzalai, Jasmeen Merighi, Jenny Michelotti, Giulia Pace, Deborah Patuzzi, Lara Raschi, Davide Reigl, Paola Valner, Tania Bertolini, Michele Caliari, Ludovica Parisi, Alessandro Ricci, Nicolo Rigatti, Andrea Scefcic, Sara Beatrici, Natasha Merighi, Veronica Pellegrini, Irene Stefani, and Marzia Mazzalai.
