The André Heller Botanical Garden in Gardone Riviera offers special guided tours on Sunday and Monday at 2:30 PM, accompanied by an official guide. The visits represent a journey through contemporary art in a space described as suspended between lucid dream and ordered chaos, where art and nature meet. In Gardone Riviera, you can also visit the Vittoriale degli Italiani.
Art and nature in dialogue
The Heller botanical garden is neither an ordinary place nor a simple museum: it is an experience that speaks to primordial senses, a harmony between plant elements and art installations. Horsetail dialogues in harmony with tall banana trees and leafy twisted hazel trees; a sculpture made of bicycle chains by artist Seo Young Deok is positioned next to Roy Lichtenstein’s Pyramids and Keith Haring’s iconic Dog. Mimmo Paladino’s work overlooks Renoir’s Grande Laveuse Accroupié, while the wide-open mouth of Rudolf Hirt’s sculpture invites the visitor on an inner journey. André Heller’s installations, dense with agnostic spirituality, challenge and caress the space alongside works by Mirò, Niki de Saint Phalle and other masters of contemporary art.
