The redevelopment project of the Archducal Park in Arco has been awarded and exhibited at the Mart, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rovereto. The project was among the six finalists of the “Building Trentino” award and received a special mention from the international jury.
The Archducal Park is a popular recreational area for residents and tourists. The project reconstructed the necessary service facilities on the site of a previous intervention adjacent to the historic walls. The large cover seamlessly integrates into the slope and provides visitors with a pleasant covered area where they can access the functional spaces behind.
This project is part of a larger redevelopment of the park, initiated by the Municipality of Arco in 2019. The construction of the second phase is currently underway, which includes the services and the covered area for educational purposes along the retaining wall to the east and the boundary wall to the north.
The “Building Trentino” award promotes the culture of contemporary architecture in the Trentino region and has become an important platform for professionals, administrators, and citizens to discuss contemporary architecture in the region. The participating projects were exhibited at the Trento train station and are now on display at the Mart until June 2.
The redevelopment project of the Archducal Park in Arco has been recognized for its integration into the landscape and attention to functional spaces. This award represents an important recognition for the Municipality of Arco and for the architects Betta Zoccatelli, who were responsible for the project.
