Arco Carnival 2000: Promoting Tourism with Media and Gastronomy
The presentation of the 2000 edition of the Gran Carnevale Asburgico di Arco was held in spectacular fashion the other day in Milan.
Delegation and Welcome Ceremony
Albino Marchi, the president of the organizing committee, led the delegation which included the provincial tourism councilor Marco Benedetti and the municipal councilor Fabrizio Miori.
There were also two masked characters and two figures dressed in the typical costumes of the Austro-Hungarian era.
As part of a welcome ceremony, all guests were received at Palazzo Marino by the Milanese tourism officials, to whom the event was presented, now also known internationally.
After exchanging gifts between the two delegations, the hosts took the Trentino guests on a tour of the rooms of Palazzo Malarino.
Gala Evening and Promotional Campaign
The evening was dedicated to the press, for which a presentation was organized in a very fashionable setting at the Hotel Principe di Savoia, with a gala evening.
About a hundred people attended, including journalists representing 17 outlets and entertainment personalities, among whom Natalia Estrada and Antonella Clerici stood out for their charm.
“I am satisfied with the success of this important event,” – said Albino Marchi – “It was a real success. Our goal was not only to present the Carnival program, which will take place on March 4, 5, 11, and 12, but also to promote Arco’s image as a tourist city full of opportunities through this significant occasion.”
Gastronomy and Television Recordings
At the Hotel Principe di Savoia, a menu featuring Austro-Hungarian cuisine was prepared by Abramo Prandi, a well-known chef from Arco, and his staff, bringing only Trentino products to the table.
High-quality gastronomy is proving to be an excellent vehicle for capturing new market segments in the tourism sector.
The public relations company supporting the Arco event in national promotion has finalized some important television recordings.
Happy Channel, the satellite TV channel of Fininvest, had the exclusive Milanese presentation and guaranteed the filming and broadcast of the parade on March 5.
On February 3, the Carnival will return to the Lombard capital for the recording of two episodes of the show “Chi c’è?”, hosted by Silvana Giacobini on Retequattro.
Rai will instead be in Arco on March 11 for the Guinness record of the world’s largest ice cream, which will be featured in the program “Cronache in diretta,” hosted by Michele Cocuzza.
Promotions and Outreach
Other promotional activities in progress will ensure maximum dissemination of the Arco event throughout the entire national territory.
