Arco Hosts December Ice Skating Near Piazzale Segantini
In December, ice skating will be available next to Piazzale Segantini. The unexpected opportunity for the Mediterranean city of Arco was conceived by Councilor Fabrizio Miori as part of the Christmas market.
This exhibition draws inspiration from Central European traditions, and to add a Nordic touch, skating was chosen, which two years ago achieved tremendous success in Piazza Duomo in Trento. The nearby and larger Piazza Tre Novembre was set aside due to ongoing construction sites and the transit of residents’ cars.
The chosen area is in front of the Bar Centrale, considered suitable for an ice rink that can accommodate around forty people. Technicians believe this capacity is optimal given that it is a trial initiative.
Prospects and School Involvement
If everything goes well, next year the skating rink will be expanded. In December, school groups will be involved, who, along with an expert, will have the chance to try this unusual sporting activity.
