Arrest in Pozzolengo: drunk man tries to run over police officer
An incident occurred on Saturday evening in Pozzolengo, where a motorist under the influence of alcohol attempted to run over a local police officer. The driver, with a blood alcohol level of 2.41, nearly five times the legal limit, reacted to the arrival of the patrol by accelerating sharply. To prevent a worse outcome, the officer drew his weapon and shot at the vehicle’s tires, successfully stopping the car after a chase of about two kilometers.
The man, who already had a history of driving under the influence, was arrested and charged with an aggravated offense against the judicial police officer. During the immediate hearing the following day, he chose not to respond to the charges. He was ordered to sign in regularly, and the trial will resume on July 25.
