Between Easter and April 25th, Mantova witnessed a series of arrests related to domestic violence and other crimes. The State Police carried out numerous interventions during the holidays, addressing critical situations that included thefts, assaults on officers, and illegal possession of firearms. A significant incident involved a Cameroonian man attempting to flee after stealing goods from a supermarket, during which he assaulted the security guard; he was arrested by the Flying Squad and taken to jail.
In another alarming case, a woman contacted emergency services to report violence from her partner, who had assaulted her and locked her in the bathroom. Officers arrested the aggressor, a 38-year-old Italian man accused of domestic abuse. During the same weekend, two Italians were reported for assaulting the responders who arrived following a domestic dispute. On Wednesday, April 23rd, a Liberian citizen reacted violently during a document check, injuring one of the officers; he was also arrested. Finally, two Belgian citizens were stopped with unauthorized weapons and ammunition, while a Tunisian man with a history of drug offenses was expelled from the country.
