Assault on police in Calcinato: fleeing thieves arrested

Two fleeing thieves violently assaulted police officers in Calcinato, dragging them along the asphalt during an attempted arrest. The incident occurred in recent days when investigators from the State Police’s “Mobile Squad” spotted a suspicious vehicle moving slowly through the city center. When ordered to stop, the two individuals—a 22-year-old Albanian and a 43-year-old irregular immigrant—reacted violently: one struck the officers while the other started the vehicle to escape, dragging the policemen for several meters. After ramming the police car and abandoning the damaged vehicle, the thieves attempted to flee on foot but were blocked by the officers. A search of the vehicle revealed burglary tools and stolen goods from recent thefts. Both were arrested on various charges, including violence and resisting a public official. The officers involved in the incident sustained injuries deemed to be healable within 15 days and were treated at the Spedali Civili hospital in Brescia. Italian Version
