ASST Garda Secures Future of Desenzano Hospital

The “Maintain Desenzano Hospital on Montecroce” Committee has received an official response from ASST Garda regarding their inquiry into the evaluation of alternative hospital site options by the Politecnico di Milano. The committee, supported by 327 citizens, also forwarded their concerns to the Lombardy Regional Welfare Directorate, highlighting unresolved issues with the current site and the assessment process.

ASST Garda clarified that the hospital’s location has not yet been finalized and that the selection process is ongoing with the Politecnico, but did not specify the evaluated alternatives or criteria. The committee criticizes the lack of transparency around the current site’s role, the status of the 2023 feasibility study, and the absence of a clear plan for updating the existing hospital. They demand full disclosure of all site options and evaluation criteria, along with a transparent, participatory decision-making process.
