On the morning of May 27, 2025, the Carabinieri of the Bergamo Company executed a restraining order against two men, aged 49 and 66, accused of attempted bank robbery in Valeggio sul Mincio. The alleged perpetrators, both with criminal records, had attempted to force their way into a branch of a banking institution on May 13, threatening employees with a box cutter. However, their plan failed due to their inability to open the cash registers, forcing them to flee in a stolen car.
Thanks to the investigations conducted by the Carabinieri, coordinated by the Verona prosecutor’s office, serious evidence against the two men emerged. After interprovincial searches, they were located and arrested in Trezzo sull’Adda (MI). The G.I.P. of the Verona Court confirmed the precautionary custody in prison for both suspects. Authorities are now verifying whether they are involved in other similar crimes in the region.
