Nearly 100,000 autumn tulips are in bloom at Parco Giardino Sigurtà in Valeggio sul Mincio, and visitors can see them until Sunday 15 November 2026, the last day of the park’s 2026 season. Alongside the flowers, the park’s autumn foliage adds shades of yellow, ochre, orange and red.
An autumn version of Tulipanomania
The park is known for its Tulipanomania festival, which in spring brings one million tulips, along with daffodils and hyacinths. It drew around 190,000 visitors from the first days of March to early May. This autumn the park is offering an autumn edition of the event.
In August, Giuseppe Sigurtà, who owns the park with his sister Magda, described the plan: “There will be the famous Tulipanomania in its autumn version: we are the first in the world to manage to make around 100,000 tulips bloom from October to December.”
Making the tulips flower in autumn required study and research. Planting began a few weeks ago: gardeners prepared the flower beds and wooden crates, then set the bulbs in the soil with the tip pointing up. The blooms come in pink, cream, red and other colours. One vantage point is the Panoramic Walk, which overlooks the Mincio Valley.
Autumn colour across 60 hectares
The tulips sit within the park’s 60 hectares, where autumn colour comes from 500 Japanese maples, along with ginkgo biloba, metasequoias and sweetgum (liquidambar) trees.
After closing on Sunday 15 November, the park will reopen on Saturday 6 March 2027.
