Bagolino has been officially recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy during a ceremony held on Saturday, July 12. This village in the Valle Sabbia, the fifth in the province of Brescia to receive such an honor, was presented with the symbolic flag by the president of the association, Fiorello Primi, in the presence of the mayor, Claudia Carè, and the regional tourism assessor, Barbara Mazzali. The latter emphasized the importance of this achievement not only for the architectural beauty of the place but also for the vibrancy of the local community and the traditions that characterize Bagolino.
Among these traditions, the Bagolino Carnival stands out, regarded as one of the oldest and most captivating in Northern Italy. The celebration of transhumance, a UNESCO heritage, represents another fundamental aspect of the village’s cultural identity. Mazzali highlighted how the Carnival and other local events are authentic expressions of a deep bond between the inhabitants and the surrounding territory. With this recognition, there is hope that Bagolino will become a reference point for sustainable tourism, capable of attracting visitors eager to discover not only the scenic beauty but also the cultural roots of the area.
