An important initiative for sustainable tourism was launched at the Palace Hotel San Pietro in Bardolino, where Federalberghi Garda Veneto and Garda Green introduced an innovative app to monitor the environmental impact of hospitality establishments. The project, called “Punto Zero,” provides hotels with the opportunity to measure crucial parameters such as CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and waste management. During the event, several local officials, including Mayor Daniele Bertasi, emphasized the significance of this initiative in promoting increasingly responsible tourism management.
The application requires only eight minutes a day to gather essential data that will enable establishments to assess and improve their ecological impact. Davide Fumaneri, Director of the Garda Green Club, highlighted how businesses can address various aspects of their operations to reduce their environmental footprints. The hope is that by the end of 2025, a significant data collection can be achieved, contributing to the planning of effective interventions for the following season, with the aim of fostering a more sustainable future in the local tourism sector.
