In Bardolino, the bike-sharing service is set to take off, thanks to an agreement between the municipalities of Garda, Bardolino, and Costermano. The project was presented on Thursday, May 29, at the municipality of Garda and involves the implementation of 75 electric bicycles to promote sustainable mobility in the area. Mayors Davide Bendinelli (Garda), Daniele Bertasi (Bardolino), and Stefano Passarini (Costermano) emphasized how this initiative could enhance the natural and cultural heritage of the region.
The bike-sharing system will be managed by Lime, a company experienced in micromobility, allowing users to book bicycles through a dedicated app. The bikes will only be usable in designated areas and can be parked in specified racks. Mayor Bertasi pointed out that Bardolino has chosen to exclude electric scooters from the agreement, focusing instead on a gradual introduction of bicycles to better adapt to the urban context. Furthermore, some local businesses, particularly wineries, have already expressed interest in the project, recognizing its potential to facilitate sustainable access to their facilities.
