A busy afternoon characterized Nago on Monday, June 2, when two swarms of bees invaded the town center, prompting immediate notification of the authorities. The first swarm was spotted around noon on Garduna Street, where it had settled near a vineyard. The firefighters, assisted by an experienced beekeeper, quickly intervened to remove it and ensure the safety of the residents. Subsequently, a second swarm was observed on a cherry tree in Gazzoletti Square, attracting the attention of passersby before being removed following standard procedures.
Local authorities have emphasized the importance of not disturbing the swarms and contacting professionals in case of sightings, reminding everyone that bees are a protected species and crucial for the ecosystem. Recently, similar incidents have occurred in other locations around the lower lake; in Sirmione and Peschiera del Garda, several swarms had surprised tourists and residents. These events highlight the need for greater awareness in managing bee swarms in urban and tourist areas, urging people to remain calm and always consult qualified experts in compliance with current regulations.
