Pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not members of the military but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve been targeted by someone who,
