A bicycle theft occurred in Sirmione, where a 37-year-old man and his 15-year-old son were apprehended while attempting to flee. The duo had attempted to steal a racing bike secured along the lakeside, taking advantage of the chaos created by tourists. Using burglary tools, they cut the lock and loaded the bike into a nearby parked van. Thanks to a timely report from a passerby who witnessed the scene, the carabinieri were able to locate and stop the criminals.
During the intervention, the officers found the two in possession of the stolen bicycle and various tools used for the break-in. The man was arrested in the act on charges of aggravated theft in concert, while the minor was subjected to a measure of referral in a state of freedom, pending trial.
