Bologna Murder Sparks Jelenic Arrest and Transport Security Crisis

A suspect has been detained in Desenzano in connection with the murder of 34-year-old train conductor Alessandro Ambrosio near Bologna station. Marin Jelenic, a 36-year-old Croatian with prior weapons charges and no fixed address, was apprehended after being identified through surveillance footage and found near Fiorenzuola, where he was disembarked from a train.

Ambrosio, known for his kindness and passion for music, was found dead on January 5 near Bologna station. His death has sparked community mourning and a protest strike by railway unions over safety concerns, highlighting ongoing fears about security for railway workers and passengers.
