Mission and history of the Lega Navale

Its institutional mission is to promote, especially among young people, love for the sea and inland waters in all aspects: cultural, environmental, ecological, commercial, sporting, and defense. The organization also seeks to integrate into communities by organizing events and projects beneficial to the entire population.

The Brescia-Desenzano section was founded in 1921 by Count Bettoni and Gabriele D’Annunzio, who at the time donated the rebolla (spinnaker wheel) of the ship Puglia to the newly established section. The Puglia was reconstructed at the Vittoriale in Gardone.
