Brescia Hosts 99th San Giuseppe Fair with Food, Sports, and Research

The official opening will take place this evening at the parish sports field of the 99th San Giuseppe Fair, organized by the municipality with groups and volunteer associations and sponsored by the Provincia di Brescia.

The three days of the event will feature agricultural and artisanal exhibitions, tasting of local traditional products, and various sporting events.

Visitors will be able to enjoy dishes such as «fretada coi bos», «chisol», and other traditional peasant cuisine at the various stands.

A rich schedule of side events includes a conference tomorrow afternoon, Saturday, March 17, on the issue of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (commonly known as “mad cow disease”), with participation from Vice President of the Region Viviana Beccalossi, President of the Agriculture Commission of the Chamber Francesco Ferrari, Director of the Brescia Zooprophylactic Institute Loris Alborali, and Provincial Agriculture Assessor Giampaolo Mantelli.

Activities and sporting events

Among other highlights will be kite flying (Saturday at 2 p.m. at the municipal sports center), theater performances (Saturday at 9 p.m. with the comedy «Il colpo della strega» at the kindergarten), and sporting events (Sunday at 9 a.m. the 21st Vineyard Walk of Lugana and at 10 a.m. a vintage car and motorcycle parade).

Also worth mentioning is the pozza sausage tasting in Piazza at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
