Brescia Province Transforms Villa Barboglio into Viticultural and Agricultural Hub
As previously stated by the Provincial Councillor for Agriculture, Dr. Guido Galperti, there is a continued intention to transform Villa Barboglio into a Functional Center for the agricultural sector, particularly viticulture, in Brescia.
The headquarters and renovation works
Within the majestic Villa, formerly the headquarters of the Convitto per la Scuola Agraria Pastori, the Provincial Viticultural Center was relocated about a year ago to the restored section. Now, in the upcoming weeks, the Ente Vini Bresciani will also move its headquarters to the spacious areas arranged on the ground floor of the Villa itself.
In the first months of next year, renovation and recovery works will begin on the remaining part of Villa Barboglio, with an expected completion by the end of the year. The total cost of this second phase is around 2 billion euros, fully covered by the Province of Brescia.
The winery activities and public interest
The brand-new and functional micro-winery, built entirely with underground prefabricated structures, has begun operations in conjunction with the recent harvest, attracting positive interest from numerous public entities. In fact, over 100 micro-wine productions have taken place, some originating from other provinces as well.
Satisfaction and future prospects
Councillor Galperti expressed particular satisfaction at the opportunity to host the Ente Vini Bresciani at the Viticultural Center. It is another piece added to the already established framework that, once renovation works are completed, will soon be completed with the presence of other institutional entities, creating the long-awaited agricultural and viticultural hub of our province.
A Services Center for agriculture where users will find most of the offices they need.
Relocation and services
The decision to transfer the Ente Vini was made in full agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, which is part of the Board of Directors, ensuring continuous and effective collaboration. The move, scheduled for the near future, was also driven by the need to vacate offices currently occupied at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters, which is undergoing extensive renovation.
The new location is certainly functional, equipped with the necessary and essential services for activities and controls, such as a tasting room used by both wine and olive oil tasting committees.
