Brescia Tourism Observatory Reveals 68% of Young People Consider Moving Abroad

A 2025 survey by the Observatory for Tourism, conducted by the Catholic University of Brescia and the Garda Community, reveals that while 77% of students aged 14-20 see good job prospects in the local tourism sector, only 39% intend to pursue careers in tourism. Concerns about low starting salaries, limited career growth, and work-related stress influence their attitudes, with 70.4%, 62.9%, and 58.3% respectively expressing reservations.

Additionally, 68% of respondents have considered relocating abroad for better job opportunities, compared to 22% who oppose this idea and 10% undecided. The survey focused on students from secondary schools in the Garda area with tourism-related programs, highlighting perceptions and future intentions regarding employment in the tourism industry.
