Calcinato Approves PEF TARI 2027–2029, Adds Services and Keeps Increases in Check

The Calcinato municipal council has approved the new TARI waste-management PEF for 2027–2029, setting the costs of the service and the related tariffs for both households and non-households. The administration said it will absorb increases from the previous regulatory period—mandated by ARERA’s tariff method but not applied in prior years—without adding further hikes. It also plans to use part of the resources recovered from fighting tax evasion to reduce the overall burden on taxpayers, allocating €60,000 from evasion recovery to help contain tariffs.

The plan includes expanding street sweeping coverage by adding new streets previously excluded from the routine service, introducing environmental education activities for schools and residents, and launching a dedicated service to manage abandoned waste in cooperation with the local police to identify and sanction responsible parties. The administration also aims to strengthen the quality of services under the contract for the separate waste collection operator. Mayor Vincenza Corsini said the approach focuses on improving services for the community rather than simply covering higher costs.

For households, the weighted average tariff increase is set at 5.20%, while non-households will see an average rise of 4.42%. In practical terms, a four-person household in a roughly 100-square-meter home would pay about €12.50 more per year, while a 150-square-meter home would increase by around €13.80 and a 200-square-meter home by about €15.
