The Municipality of Lonato del Garda has officially announced the publication of the call for proposals for the concession of its new multipurpose municipal sports center. This initiative, developed in a public-private partnership, involves the design, construction, management, and extraordinary maintenance of the entire complex, located in the Fenil Nuovo Molini area. The Administration has completed months of intensive preparation to define a proposal that elevates sports as a key player and a valuable social resource for the City. Project Details and Functional Division The development plan has been structured into two distinct functional lots to optimize the realization and management of the various areas. Lot 1 (Football Sector): This segment will be entirely dedicated to football. It includes the construction of all necessary sports facilities, including supporting and service buildings, as well as essential urban amenities to ensure full accessibility to the facility. Lot 2 (Multisport Facilities and Catering): The second lot is intended to accommodate a variety of disciplines and services. In addition to sports fields, it will include spaces for padel, tennis, beach volleyball, basketball, and volleyball. Like Lot 1, this will also be complete with supporting and service structures, along with a dedicated catering area and the necessary urban amenities. The entire facility will integrate support services, reception areas, and dining spaces, along with essential technical areas. The project also includes provisions for public and reserved parking proportional to the overall capacity, and a system of vehicular and pedestrian pathways designed for accessibility, including the removal of architectural barriers. Economic Investment and Timelines The estimated total value for the construction of the project, including both lots, amounts to nearly €12,000,000.00. This amount will be partly covered by €6,000,000.00 already available in the municipal coffers and the remaining approximately €6,000,000.00 from private resources. This significant investment aims to provide the community with modern spaces for sports and recreational activities, equipped with fields and areas for a wide range of playful, recreational, educational, inclusive, and sports activities, in line with high-quality standards. The call for proposals has been published, and interested economic operators will have time to submit their offers until 12:00 PM on December 29, 2025. Proposals must be submitted via the Sintel online platform. Voices from the Local Administration The Mayor of Lonato del Garda, Roberto Tardani, described the initiative as “an ambitious project, the result of extensive planning and listening, representing a significant investment for our community, both economically and socially. The intervention will provide citizens with a modern, functional, and accessible facility designed to meet the needs of sports associations, families, and the many young people who view sports as an opportunity for growth, well-being, and community engagement. It is a concrete step towards a Lonato that is increasingly attentive to the quality of services and the future of its territory.” Massimo Castellini, Councilor for Budget and Assets, emphasized the importance of enhancing public assets: “The publication of this call represents a concrete step in enhancing public assets for the benefit of the community. Investing in sports facilities means not only promoting the practice of sports and social interaction but also managing the city’s resources efficiently and sustainably. We believe that the new sports center represents an investment for the entire community and will become a reference point for citizens of all ages, with modern and accessible spaces, contributing to the development of a more active and inclusive community.” The Councilor also expressed gratitude for the intense work carried out by the Department and municipal offices, reiterating that “investing in sports means investing in the quality of life of citizens and in the development of our City.” Italian Version
