Caprino Town Hall to Become Cultural Hub with Library and Museum Initiatives
Palazzo Carlotti, the current Town Hall headquarters, will become a prestigious cultural hub not only for Caprino but for the entire district. The mayor announced this during the presentation of the upcoming initiatives calendar, made by the municipal library.
Interventions on cultural and museum activities
“Once the work on the school building is completed and all classes return to their premises,” clarified Maria Teresa Girardi, “the municipal offices will be housed outside the Palazzo, and the former residence of the Carlotti will become the driving force behind all cultural initiatives, including museum activities.”
“The intention remains,” said the mayor, “to invest in culture and expand the museum space. The core of all activities will be the municipal library, firmly rooted in Caprino but with connections extending across the entire district.”
An ambitious project already conceivable before the end of the year, but in practice already underway through cultural activities and events planned by the Municipal Library.
Cultural and social initiatives
“A real center of cultural exchange,” said Anna Carla Brunelli, confirmed president of the Library, “with a potential of 1,500 users last year.”
Thus, the effort is to bring around one table not only the roughly ten cultural associations operating in Caprino but all those from the Baldo-Garda territory, with the planning of a common calendar of events, festivals, and cultural opportunities.”
“In this perspective, a first result born from the desire for collaboration has been achieved,” highlighted Gaetano Greco, with the project “Galateo” linking the library to Ctg Monte Baldo.”
Meetings and screening programs
“This is a series of Friday conversations with journalists, writers, psychologists, art historians, complemented by the screening of recent films on the following Wednesday. These will be held at Palazzo Carlotti, while the films will be shown at the elementary schools, aiming to analyze some concepts, studies, and social intersections where good manners are more frequently and authoritatively preached or should be.”
The critical reflection on the topic concludes with a film viewing, curated by Caterina Salvadore, which broadens or clarifies the elements of a “new way of understanding etiquette”. So, etiquette of yesterday and today: rules of coexistence in well-defined contexts such as love, institutions, sports, and mobile phones.
Speakers alternately will include Rodolfo Signorini, art historian; Valentina D’Urso and Roberto Bondavalli, psychologists; Luciano Bonuzzi, psychiatrist; Barbara Garlaschelli, writer; Luigi Pretis, City manager; Gianni Mura, journalist; Paolo Rinaldi and Lorenzo Liotta, writers.
Other cultural and gastronomic initiatives
The other initiative, “Culture in the Kitchen”, involves two distinct categories of users, with the goal of enhancing “the gastronomic and cultural heritage of the territory”. This includes “marketing in the kitchen”: four Tuesday meetings during March for culinary professionals, and “Cooking and Drinking… with the Family” with two evenings at the Frantoio di Pesina restaurant, three wine tasting events at Bar Mazzini in Caprino, and one evening dedicated to the oil of Baldo-Garda.
Programmed activities at the library include “Poetry and Music” and “Music and Words” for young people; “Visiting Exhibitions”, guided tours to art exhibitions; presentations of research and books dedicated to the territory; and “Going to the Arena” for classical music. These activities will eventually expand into a literature festival, in contact and collaboration with the international Mantova festival dedicated specifically to literature.
