An important operation against prostitution exploitation was carried out by the Carabinieri on the morning of Saturday, February 8, leading to the arrest of two foreign men without fixed residence in Italy. The operation, which took place in the Alto Garda area, also involved the Mobile Operational Unit and the Riva del Garda Company, resulting in a total of 17 reports for crimes related to exploitation. The investigations, directed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rovereto, uncovered the existence of a criminal network consisting of nine individuals aged between 26 and 38, who were active in managing the illicit activity primarily in Alto Garda and other provinces in Italy.
Between February 2024 and the present, the suspects are alleged to have recruited 15 young women from abroad to force them into prostitution in various accommodation facilities. Among those reported are the managers of a residence in Trentino, accused of facilitating prostitution. The organization also utilized online advertisements to promote their services, generating a turnover that could reach up to 300,000 euros per month. During the operation, electronic devices and money derived from illegal activities were seized; the two arrested individuals were transferred to prisons in Trento and Padua.
