Carabinieri Impersonators Target Garda Businesses in Scams

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately report to the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they have money, disappears and is no longer visible.
