Posing as Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant operators in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines associated with the force.

They are not soldiers, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to be from finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
