Pretending to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not military personnel but con artists who, at times, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
