Carabinieri Scams in Garda: How to Recognize and Protect Yourself

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have fallen prey to individuals who,

despite having money, no longer appear in person.
